Simply Greekalicious | Our Story

A family kitchen on Wantagh Avenue

Maria and Spiro Ploumes opened Simply Greekalicious to bring bold, honest Greek cooking to Long Island's South Shore — the kind made from real recipes, real ingredients, and a real love of feeding people.
How we got started

How we got started

Maria and Spiro opened on Wantagh Avenue with one belief: authentic Greek food — gyros on the spit, house-made tzatziki, golden spanakopita — should be available to every Long Island neighbor, without shortcuts.
The food, the way it should be

The food, the way it should be

The chicken gyro turns on the spit until edges are caramelized and the meat carves off in juicy, charred ribbons — that's the standard every dish is held to. From the cult-favorite halloumi wrap to the hearty Greek Bowl, generational recipes guide everything out of this kitchen.

Part of the Wantagh community

The Ploumes family are active members of the Wantagh Chamber of Commerce, have been recognized by the Town of Hempstead, and regularly support local PTAs and fundraisers. This isn't a chain that happened to land here — it's a neighborhood institution that grew up with the community.

Greek on the go

Greek On The Go takes the same spit-roasted meats, fresh sauces, and family recipes to festivals, corporate events, and gatherings across Long Island — same bold flavors, just on wheels.
The same welcome, every time

Whether you're grabbing a gyro at the counter, catering a backyard party, or ordering delivery on a Tuesday night, the experience is always the same: warm, genuine, and delicious.
